• The front desk personnel was nice and personable.
• The room, the lobby, and the pool area were all outdated and dirty.

“ This is the worst hotel experience that I have had in all my years of travel. I have stayed in hostels (overseas and Canada) while in college that were nicer than this hotel. The rooms were not clean; the shower would not drain; the television did not work properly; and thee was air-conditioning fluid or water leaking from the ceiling.
”

• Location walk to everything, amazing view of the beach, modern clean rooms and nice linens.
• Concierge was useless and parking was expensive.

“The location of the hotel really can't be beaten. It's directly on the beach a few blocks from everything. The hotel was renovated about two years ago. The pool was large and heated. Everyone was really nice except the concierge. The bartender at the pool bar and the front Bar were both really nice. Parking at the hotel was expensive, so we parking at a garage a block away for $15 a day. The Rooms were modern and clean and the sheets were really good quality. I would stay there again.”

• Great location and price - great pool room was modern and clean.
• Restaurant was not the greatest, parking is expensive if you have a car, we didn't.

“Great place to stay for the price. Right in the middle of south beach on the Ocean and no need for a Car. The pool is amazing and the gym is good although not that big. The hotel was renovated about a year ago so the lobby, pool and hallways are really nice. Please note that some of the rooms at the Shelborne are renovated and others not.”

• Hotel is in a great location, the furniture was nice and comfortable and the view of the city and beach was great!
• The bathroom was on the small side, there wasn't any counter space for toiletries. The carpet in the hallway was old and smelled like a hospital.

“This hotel is in a great location, It is right on the beach and within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The interior needs a little work, but for the most part it was great.”

• Beautiful beach.

“Room smelled of urine, rust all over faucets in bathroom, window and remote were broken. The concierge referred us to an inexpensive restaurant in which the food was expensive. I was very disappointed in room. Hotel room needs makeover.”

• The pool and outdoor facilities surrounding the pool were outstanding. The closeness of the beach was great.
• The hotel and rooms were very dated. It appears little renovation work has occurred since the date of construction.

“The hotel/beach resort is in a very convenient location in the northernmost part of Miami's South Beach. Only minutes away from an outstanding pedestrian mall housing an excellent selection of shopping facilities and restaurants, the hotel/beach resort had a beautifully designed, private, spacious pool and pool deck framed with tall mango trees. The pool deck, adjacent to the beach and the Atlantic Ocean, eliminated crossing any roadways to access the beach and the water. Our family would have no reservation returning to the facility on our next visit to Southern Florida.”

• The hotel is on the South Beach, has access to the beach and a nice pool
• the rooms are in very bad shape, the amenities and the room condition do not correspond to a 4 star level

“When we were leaving, the hotel bum put a bag in the back of my SUV in such a way that when next time I open the rear gate of the vehicle this heavy bag fell right on my foot scratching it, and the big bottle of Australian wine inside broke making everything inside the bag red, smelly, and full of sharp glass. But, after all, we enjoyed the pool and the beach.”

• Pool area was very nice.
• This hotel was rated as a 3 star, however I would have to say that 1-2 star would be appropriate. The rooms were old and very outdated. Food was bad.

“I was quite shocked upon my arrival to this hotel. Due to the fact that the hotel was old, it almost made the hotel look dirty. The Website claimed that there were recent renovations, however the only area that was nice was the pool area. The rooms were very outdated and old. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• It was right on the beach in south beach florida

“The hotel was OK, I understand it was in South Beach, which is the Art Decco area, but the rooms were not kept up very well and had a lot of things wrong with them. We had 3 rooms the others got great rooms with great views on the 12th and 15th floors. I however, got a room that faced the roof on the 6th floor.”

• Hotel website did not match the truth.
• 1 of 2 elevators did not work, gate to beach was faulty, hotel staff were unprofessional.

“If you just want a clean bed, it's fine and the location was pretty good. But from the website, we were expecting a new white modern hotel, and it fell short of our expectations. The staff was competing with customers for the use of the 1 elevator and it can take 10 minutes for us to get down from the 6th floor.”

• Location was great-on the beach and close to Lincoln Road.
• Room was smaller than expected but location made up for it.

“While the room was smaller than expected the location was excellent. The room was equipped with sink, microwave and refrigerator and a large closet. It is right on the beach and walking distance from Lincoln Road where there is an abundance of outdoor dining choices as well as shopping.”

• The location and beach access are the best features.
• The hotel has a mandatory $3 per day charge for safe deposit boxes.

“This hotel is in a great location on South Beach. You are only a short walk from the best nightlife and clubs for socializing. The hotel rooms are slightly older dated, but very clean. The lobby has been remodeled recently. For the price, I was very impressed with the entire experience.”
