• Rooms were quite sound proof and the pool area was well kept, good workout area.
• Location of air conditioner vents/ moved bed into middle of room to avoid the blast of cold air.

“Impressive surroundings, lobby, restaurant, bar, pool area and workout room was clean and machinery in good condition. I expected the location to be more rural (it is right off the highway.) The front desk was prompt to respond to our request for extra pillows. The location of the ac vents, below the windows, created a problem, as we were traveling with a third person, who had the bed away from the vents. The rooms were spacious, relatively soundproof and overall a good bargain.”

• Location convenient. Ambience very nice. Lobby/furnishings/grounds and bar very inviting. Nice large rooms/bath. Nice to have double sinks.
• Being able to connect with friends room on opposite side. Unable to walk thru pool area to other side.

“Friends we traveled with stayed there before and loved it. They were right on. It was a place that we will return to and will recommend to others.”

• I liked the decor, theme, and the mattresses were good.
• Noise from other rooms was terrible.

“This hotel is in a nice location, and its appearance, theme, and decor are nice. It's an older building that has not been neglected for a change (like older TX motels). The staff is good, and the restaurant is quite nice. My complaints were lack of facial tissues and the fact that suite doors are not insulated at all for sound. The family next to us was innocently having fun and visiting, but it sounded like they were in the room with us. The tile floors only heightened this problem.”

• We had to clean out the coffee basket in the coffee maker.

• We liked the location, comfort &the western theme.
• Rooms need an update. Plumbing needs to be worked on.

“We loved the Y-O; It just needs an update to be back where it should be. The food was great, bed was very comfortable, and all the Y-O staff was wonderful. Worth the price.”

• It was just the way I remembered it as a kid.
• Moldy shower curtain.

• Lobby has a number of animals on display (life-size bear, giraffe head, etc.). Great for pictures. Reflects hunting lifestyle of hill country.
• Pool has tiles that have fallen off and need replacing. Parking lot needs resurfacing.

“Excellent hotel for the price. Great rooms and the suites add an even nicer touch with large fire places (we toured one and will likely stay in a suite next time).”

“We enjoyed our one night stay very much. The bathroom in our room could use some remodeling but other than that, we were pleased. The public areas are interesting and unusual for this price range not a run of the mill chain. We will go to this hotel again.”

“Very nice hotel. Great value for the money. All the amenities- PPV, pool, hot tub, bar, restaurant, game room. Rich atmosphere with native and exotic game displayed throughout main building. Very Southwestern atmosphere, with tile floors, rich woods, and landscaping. Nice pool and hot tubs. The whole family enjoyed it. We'll definitely come back.”

• Love the big rooms and tile floors.
• They need to replace the pillows.

“I stay at this hotel 2 or 3 times a year. The location is great and the price is good. The rooms are big and comfortable. It is quiet and a good place to relax.”

• It was centrally located in Kerr vile.
• It is not affiliated with the Yo Ranch. The Yo Ranch is separately owned, and is about 45 minutes away.

“This is a nice hotel for the money. Clean, but could use an update. We thought we were going to the Yo Ranch, which is a separate entity, so we were a little disappointed in that we were just staying at a nice "chain-type" hotel. The Yo Resort & Conference Center has formerly been owned by multiple chains.”

“This is one of my favorite places. It has a great Sunday brunch and the staff at the resort is the best. We will stay there every time we are in Kerrville. The unique style is unforgettable. The grounds are very private, spacious and romantic. Loved our stay. Highly recommended.”

• The decor, the front desk clerks.
• Shower head and not hot water in the shower, it was just warm.

“This was a very unique hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. The front desk clerks were exceptional. Even though we got our room they did not treat us like less of a customer, like other hotels have in the past. They gave us the best room possible. The atmosphere was perfect and the room was nicely decorated and it was very large. I would definitely stay there again.”

• Outdated and hopefully you like animal horns everywhere.

“The hotel was outdated, no carpet in any room. It is nasty dirty tile. I was not happy with the restaurant. It was overpriced and the meal was not good. Ice machines could not be found in working order and when I went to the front to ask for some I was pointed to another ice machine that was working on the second floor on the other side of the hotel. I will not be going back to this hotel again. I was not happy with the quality. The best time I had there was from the manager at check in. Everyone else was rude and unhappy with every step of the way. I witnessed over 3 other tables that were upset with their food orders in the restaurant as well. I am not normal to complain, but it was not a great stay. The main reason I picked this hotel was that they had a hot tub to get there to find it in not working order anyway. ”

• Coffee pot or coffee in room was bad.

“Set in the Hill country town of Kerrville and convenient to Comfort and Fredrick berg and other neat places to visit. Dining experience at Mamacitas was out of sight and the Sunday Brunch at YO resort will bring us back. Also the thought of staying on the YO Ranch sounds like a neat idea.”
