Part of the Surtees Hotel complex, you have to be on the look out for the brasserie at 18 Dean Street. It is so in keeping with the surrounding architecture that it still looks like its previous incarnation (a solicitor's office) from the outside. Inside, though, is the ultimate in minimalist design which, when empty, can feel quite intimidating. Concealed lighting behind a curved suspended ceiling gives the interior a stark, but fresh and airy feel. Good European-style brasserie food is the specialty, and the restaurant has been acclaimed by a number of local food writers. Business lunches are especially welcome.
